ABOUT US.
The Do More Agriculture Foundation (Do More Ag) is a farmer-founded national charity focusing on mental health in agriculture across Canada.
HOW WE DO MORE.
We champion the mental wellbeing of those in Canadian agriculture, from the farmgate to the boardroom and everywhere in between. We work to cultivate a culture where everyone is encouraged, supported and empowered to care for their mental health and support those around them.
Agriculture is built on deep rural roots, hard work, resilience, independence and strength. While these qualities are often sources of pride, they can also become barriers to speaking up, reaching out and seeking support. Farmers and others across Canadian agriculture experience significant mental health challenges, including stress, anxiety, depression, emotional exhaustion and burnout.
We know meaningful change takes all of us. By working alongside farmers, communities, industry partners and others committed to mental wellbeing in agriculture, we can strengthen support, encourage conversation and help create lasting cultural change.
OUR MISSION.
To cultivate a culture of mental wellbeing with Canadian farming communities.
OUR VISION.
An industry where all farming communities are encouraged, empowered and supported to take care of their mental wellbeing.
OUR PILLARS
The Do More Agriculture Foundation operates under three pillars.
As a Canadian charity, these pillars drive our focus and efforts across the agriculture industry.
Action
Action for awareness, education and breaking stigma. These are important steps toward creating real and lasting change for mental health in agriculture. We take action to increase awareness, knowledge and understanding.
Community
Community creates a sense of belonging and hope. When we feel connected, we’re more likely to reach out, show up and support one another. We work alongside local leaders and communities to foster spaces where conversations about mental health and wellbeing are welcomed and people feel seen, heard and valued. Together, we strengthen connection, inclusion, belonging and support.
Resources
Mental health services and supports can be difficult to access in rural and remote communities. We work to help bridge that gap by connecting farmers, farm families and others across Canadian agriculture with relevant support, education and resources. Support is available. There is help, and there is hope.
